A district of arts and culture in Culver City

An embarrassment of riches in Downtown Culver City — Culver City

Business Districts

Culver City Arts District

A collaboration project was organized by the Economic Development Division with local businesses in the newly organized Arts District of Culver City. As part of the project, 32 double-hung banners along Washington Blvd. will be installed. between Helms and Fairfax Avenues. Staff of Economic Development collaborated with members of the Arts District to develop a marketing plan that promoted the area, which is home to numerous art galleries, architectural firms, specialty shops, and restaurants.

In addition to the words dine, shop, and experience, the banners were designed by members of the Arts District. Washington Blvd. on Culver City's north side features four of the eleven participating galleries' banner images. The banner fabrication and installation was entirely funded by Arts District members, amounting to $9000 in investment.

Additionally, the district is developing an extensive website and map to highlight the area's galleries, specialty retailers, restaurants, Culver City schools, and other creative offices. Visit the Arts District website.

Culver Village

Many local, small businesses provide products, services, and gourmet cuisine in Culver Village. The district consists of more than 50 businesses located between Sepulveda Blvd. and Culver Blvd. and Franklin Ave.

Downtown Business Association

The Culver City Downtown Business Association (DBA) is led by a volunteer Board of Directors consisting of downtown business and property owners whose purpose is to lead the development of downtown Culver City, while maintaining its quality of life for those who live, work and play downtown.

Since its formation in 1998, the DBA has shifted its focus from marketing to providing a clean, vibrant, and well maintained downtown. In addition to promoting the district, the DBA works to strengthen public/private partnerships, while advocating for its nearly 120 members. Visit the Downtown Business Association website for more information about business, events, and promotions.
